Song Ideas for the First Dance at the Wedding

Posted by Verónica Toro on October 14, 2016

One of the most important moments for the bride and groom at their wedding is, without a doubt, their first dance as man and wife. It is also a much-awaited moment for guests, maybe because it’s so emotional, or just because we know that the music comes next and we’re  waiting for the dance floor to get started.

Thousands of couples have a song that means a lot to them, even since the first few months that their relationship began. But, there are many others who have no idea what song to dance to at their wedding, and it is really important! It should be a song that they both like and that fits the occasion perfectly.

For a first dance, many songs come to mind: “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain; “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra; “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran; “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, etc. The problem with these is that they are classic wedding songs, which makes them too common. I personally would prefer something less conventional, which is why I was inspired to recommend my own selection, which includes everything from 80s groups to modern artists from different genres.

I hope you enjoy! And if you remember (or even danced your first dance to) a song that’s not on the list, share it with our readers and help them decide which one to choose!
